Economic Justice in the United States

SOS! Campaign

SOS

The federal budget reflects our priorities as a nation.   With 37 million living in poverty and 46 million without health insurance in our nation, isn’t it time for new priorities?

AFSC is working for new budget priorities through our Cost of War campaign and by playing a leadership role in local, state and national budget coalitions.  Our toll-free number to Congress has generated over 150,000 calls.

AFSC envisions a world that places Quaker values of dignity and human rights at the heart of national priorities.  We oppose soaring Pentagon budgets and tax breaks for the most affluent, and work to restore funding to social programs that have experienced seven years of devastating cuts.

Congress is now deciding the priorities in next year’s federal budget.
